One week. One photo.

Thursday, January 9th, 2014

What started as a push to get some prints out the door during the holiday season has now turned into a yearlong project for our Emissary Artist, Emiliano Granado. We caught up with him this week to find out more about his new project.

EA: Hey, EG! We’re loving your new project – congrats on selling out of the first week’s print! Can you tell us a little more about it?
EG: Thanks! Sure, happy to help.

EA: What was the inspiration to start this project?
EG: I did a giveaway of some of my prints during the holidays and got a lot of response from it, so I figured that people want prints…  It feels good to get prints up on people’s walls. It also really forces me to stay current in my work and I also get to potentially dig up some old gems.

EA: How do you choose the photo?
EG: Choosing the photo is the hardest part. I’m still working on whether I am going to choose based on a theme or at random. January has a theme… for now. Guess we’ll see how it goes. Part of the fun is digging up some old photos that no one has seen, but I’m not opposed to using newer ones either.

EA: Will this be a continuing project?
EG: Not sure. Hopefully I can segue this energy into finally getting around to printing some zines/books that I’ve been waiting to work on for awhile.

52 weeks. 52 photos. We can’t wait to see what the year brings. Thanks for sharing your project with us, Emiliano!
Check out and set your alarm each week – we’re thinking these prints will be selling out quickly!

Emissary Artists featured in PDN!

Monday, December 10th, 2012

The holidays surely are merry and bright this year! We just got our copy of the January 2013 issue of PDN… and we’re featured in it!

Our oversized postcard promotions are included in an article showcasing “10 Stand-out Photo Promos.” PDN interviewed Christopher for the article and in representing Emissary oh, so eloquently, he did a great job of  describing why we think these postcards are so versatile.  “We use them to send to clients as an introduction to our photographers, follow-up after interest has been shown, and as leave-behinds and name plates for portfolio shows… We want clients to keep the cards and use them as artwork, so we try to choose images that are funny, inspirational, beautiful.” As noted in the article, our postcards were such a big hit with the folks behind the blog “Art Buyers are People Too”, that they posted about them in September!

A tip of the hat to PDN for including our Emissary Artists in their write-up; we hope to continue delighting and surprising clients with our  photographers’ beautiful images, one postcard at a time!

Portfolio Roadshow: Los Angeles

Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

Its been a busy couple of weeks here at Emissary Artists! We’ve been out and about showing off the great work of our photographers and last week Liz & Christopher flew to LA and met up with photographers Andrew Reilly & Michael Cogliantry to show off the Emissary roster to a few agencies.

In between shots for National Tequila Day and rooftop cocktails in Venice, the group visited Deutsch, Team One, Chiat Day, 72andSunny and RPA. It was an incredibly busy 3 day whirlwind, but the chance to meet some great creative people and talk about the accomplishments of our Emissary Artists was well worth it.

Here’s a few of our favorites from the trip; check out the rest on Facebook right here.

A Visit to the Martin Agency

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

Last Wednesday, Christopher met up with Emissary Artist Walter Smith to pay a visit to our friends at The Martin Agency in Richmond, VA. In addition to catching up with a few old friends about past times working with Walter on Wal-Mart projects, the pair brought down the portfolios of all our talented Emissary Artists to share. Here’s a few of our favorite moments – you can check out all the fun right here.
