Napa

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Talk about having a great day.  First, we end up with the sweetest car you could ever imagine driving around Napa in.  We walked out of the hotel looking for our car and were joking how the 1948 white Packard must be our car.  And it was!  Apparently we got upgraded because the car we were supposed to get got sideswiped the day before.  We even met Robin Williams because we overheard him talking about that amazing car and we got a huge kick out of telling him it was ours.  We started out at the most amazing winery and ended up spending most of the day in the tasting room at Caldwell Vineyard.  Our lovely host, John Caldwell, was a delight and the wine was Rocket Science.  It was a great referral from our driver, off the beaten path and we stayed most of the day.  We had so much fun we all met John and Joy for dinner at Joy’s favorite restaurant.  Can’t wait to go back in the Fall.

Emissary Visits San Francisco

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I had a great time in SF last week.  Had the pleasure of spending time at McCann, Goodby, Cutwater and Butler Shine & Stern.  We could not have asked for better weather or met nicer people. Casey Lukatz and Cynthia Perez joined me and helped lug the books around the hilly streets which is no small feat.  And a special thanks to Cynthia for the fun video!

Livin’ the High Life

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Last night Tim Tadder surprised us with a spectacular evening planned.  A limo came and picked us up after work, took us downtown and dropped us off at Trump Tower.  Our first stop was Rebar; where we had the best table in the bar reserved for us, right by the window overlooking the river.  After a few drinks our waiter told us we had dinner reservations upstairs at Sixteen.  Tim had pre-arranged everything for us — and kept it a secret — so we left it up to the wonderful staff at Trump Tower to lead the way.  At Sixteen, we were welcomed by an AMAZING view of the Wrigley building and Tribune Tower where we were wined and dined all evening.  We only wished the night could have lasted forever!  THANKS TIM!!!

The picture to the right was taken in the limo on our way home….we obviously had a great night!

Seattle/Portland Trip

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I made my first trip to Seattle and Portland in September with Tonya as my tour guide.  My brother moved to Seattle in July and I got to spend two weekends sight-seeing the city and the islands.  The weather was spectacular the whole week.  We did a quick run down to Portland and stopped by Weiden + Kennedy and Nemo Design.  In Seattle we had the pleasure of going to Wongdoody, Hornall Anderson, Publicis, Creature, and Wexley School for Girls.  I can’t wait to get back.  liz

Cynthia Perez joins Emissary

Monday, September 21st, 2009
We are really excited to announce our newest addition to Emissary – Cynthia Perez.  Cynthia brings an incredibly fresh and distinctive perspective to children’s photography.  Liz Miller-Gershfeld from Energy BBDO summed it up best, “I really love Cynthia’s book.  Her work captures a visceral yearning for childhood, like looking at it through a memory lens.  Really beautiful and a unique point of view.”
Cynthia’s latest projects include national ads for McDonald’s and the movie, “My Sister’s Keeper” with Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin.

Inchworm, Grape Juice and Cake

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Last night we took an Emissary field trip to see Matthew’s band, Inchworm, play at the Double Door.  This was a celebration for Grape Juice Record’s 5-year anniversary with 9 bands and a cake from Food NetworksAce of Cakes.”  Duff and his band, …soihadto…, was amongst the featured artists of the night.  Tonya was so excited to see Duff, she loves Food Network and their Chefs.  She had actually started following Duff’s career before he even had the show “Ace of Cakes.”  She could barely contain her excitement.  This was a show that will be remembered–great music, great cake and great company!
