Behind Home Plate

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I’ve never been so close to an umpire’s butt before.  Dan Goldberg and I scored the best tickets we’ve ever had for a Cubs game.  Fourth row as direct behind home plate as you could be.  We were apparently on TV a whole lot because people were texting us all night whenever they showed the stats line.  We tried very hard not to get caught doing anything obnoxious and I think we succeeded.  Too bad it looks the Cubby’s won’t be making it into the playoffs, though.  Ohhhhhh well!

Tonya’s First Solo Trip!

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

On Monday August 3rd, I ventured to Kansas City for my first solo trip.  I was there the entire week and visited every major agency in the city.  I was very impressed with the warm welcome that I got from everyone. Not only were they impressed with all of the Emissary talent; they were excited to see new work.  In the evenings, I explored the city and experienced what Kansas City had to offer.  I am looking forward to returning next year!

Kubis’ Take Over Tahoe

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I recently took a trip to Lake Tahoe for a family reunion.   This is really an amazing place; and being surrounded by 22 other Kubis’ for the week made for an action packed vacation.  We spent most our days on the boat or at the beach and I even jumped off a 50-foot cliff!    But, I’d have to say the best thing about Tahoe is that there are NO bugs (which is something unimaginable in the hot, humid summers of Chicago)!
