Portfolio Roadshow: Los Angeles

Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

Its been a busy couple of weeks here at Emissary Artists! We’ve been out and about showing off the great work of our photographers and last week Liz & Christopher flew to LA and met up with photographers Andrew Reilly & Michael Cogliantry to show off the Emissary roster to a few agencies.

In between shots for National Tequila Day and rooftop cocktails in Venice, the group visited Deutsch, Team One, Chiat Day, 72andSunny and RPA. It was an incredibly busy 3 day whirlwind, but the chance to meet some great creative people and talk about the accomplishments of our Emissary Artists was well worth it.

Here’s a few of our favorites from the trip; check out the rest on Facebook right here.

A Visit to the Martin Agency

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

Last Wednesday, Christopher met up with Emissary Artist Walter Smith to pay a visit to our friends at The Martin Agency in Richmond, VA. In addition to catching up with a few old friends about past times working with Walter on Wal-Mart projects, the pair brought down the portfolios of all our talented Emissary Artists to share. Here’s a few of our favorite moments – you can check out all the fun right here.

Three Boys from Pasadena

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

We’re on a mission to fill your summer days with art & photography exhibits!

Our friend George Holtz, along with Mark Arbeit and Just Loomis, have brought their exhibit Three Boys from Pasadena to the States after having originally shown the work at the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin. The piece is a homage to their mentor, legendary photographer Helmut Newton. Showcasing photographs from Newton and the three proteges, the exhibit also features personal letters, Polaroids from set and memorabilia from their years together.  If you’re in the Pasadena area, don’t miss it. Find out more about the exhibit at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena right here.

A Sun of Thread Installation at MIA

Monday, July 9th, 2012

Sometimes its the simplest things that can create the most amazing results. Take the current installation at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for example – artist Eric Rieger (aka HOT TEA) has just pulled off his biggest accomplishment yet. An installation of his interpretation of the sun titled Letting Go – with of 84 miles of suspended string. If you’re in the Minneapolis area, take the time to lie in the grass and stare at the sun. You can find details about the installation here.
